What We Do
Crown Molding Services
Standard Crown Installation
Single-piece cove or colonial profiles, coped at inside corners and mitered at outside corners. Ready for paint the day we finish.
Built-Up Cornice
Stacked profiles using a combination of base cap, cove, and crown to create a deeper, more formal look. We build the sequence so it reads as one continuous unit.
Tray & Coffered Ceilings
Crown molding integrated into tray ceiling frames and coffered grid work. We frame the structure and apply molding so the detail reads cleanly from all angles.
Material Options
Paint-grade MDF for tight budgets, finger-jointed pine for painted finish work, and clear or stain-grade solid wood for natural finishes. We recommend by room humidity and paint plan.
Repairs & Extensions
Matching an existing profile to extend into a new room or patch a damaged run. We source matching profiles or custom-cut a match from router templates.
The Process
How It Works
Profile Selection
We walk through your space and ceiling height, then recommend profile sizes that are proportional to the room. We bring sample cuts so you can see scale before ordering.
Cutting & Fitting
All cuts are made on site. We cope inside corners rather than miter them, which keeps joints tight as the wood moves seasonally. Outside corners are compound-mitered and glued.
Install & Finish Prep
Nailed, glued, and caulked where joints meet the wall and ceiling. We fill nail holes, sand smooth, and leave the surface ready for your painter.

FAQ
For 8-foot ceilings, a 3.5 to 4.5 inch crown profile is proportional. Taller ceilings can carry wider profiles or built-up stacks. We bring sample cuts to the estimate so you see scale before you decide.
For paint-only finishes, MDF is denser and more dimensionally stable than solid wood, which means joints stay tighter longer. For stain or natural finishes, solid wood or finger-jointed pine is the correct choice. We recommend by your paint plan and room conditions.
A standard rectangular room with 8-foot ceilings runs half a day to a full day depending on corner count, built-up profile complexity, and whether there are soffits or obstructions. Whole-house jobs are typically 2 to 3 days.
We work throughout Chicago's North Shore and southern Wisconsin. Kenilworth, Winnetka, Glencoe, Highland Park, Lake Forest, Lake Bluff, and surrounding communities. Call (773) 216-7591 to confirm your zip code.
“After installing our kitchen cabinets, Yuriy did a great job placing crown molding onto the cabinets to give it that finishing touch. We are very happy with the result.”
